Voices for Housing

We're looking for film entries for our 2025 We Are Home Film Fest! This year's theme is Voices for Housing: showcasing films that celebrate the strength and power of people in fighting for their right to a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads at night.

Over the past few years income disparity across the country has led to a national housing crisis. Housing as a human right has become a central organizing point for communities across the country. We're looking for films that celebrate the different ways people are coming together around our shared need for shelter.

Folk Frontera

Far West Texas is a place where local folklore looms as large as the landscape. Two fronteriza women—one a public radio music show host, the other a Mariachi and folklórico dancer—live in two cultures at the same time, as they struggle to find their place in the vast Chihuahuan Desert. Touches of magical realism infuse this portrait of life along the U.S.- Mexico border.
